With more than 30 years of reporting experience, Darlene Hill has deep expertise in media relations, content creation and storytelling. Prior to joining Rise Strategy Group, she served as lead anchor for NBC 4 TV in Columbus, Ohio, and a reporter and anchor for Chicago’s FOX TV 32.
Darlene focuses on media relations, reputation management and community engagement. Darlene’s longtime work in the Chicago area has given her a rich understanding of the various communities that make up the metropolitan area, from downtown to Downers Grove and the North Shore to the South Side. Throughout her career, she has developed relationships with key civic and government leaders in the city's 50 wards, as well as throughout the media world in Chicago and beyond. Darlene is known for her coverage of major stories in Chicago and nationally, the Obama presidential campaign and administration, and the Democratic National Conventions. She has interviewed notable individuals such as Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Rev. Jesse Jackson, George W. Bush, Bishop Jakes, Aretha Franklin, Taraji P. Henson, James Brown, Kem, Beverly Johnson and Simon Cowell. Darlene was also a regular guest on the Dr. Oz show to talk about community health.
Darlene has a degree in broadcast journalism from Ohio State University and
is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
